GoldenEye in Oracabessa, where Ian Fleming wrote all 14 James Bond novels, is an island paradise where guests can paddleboard on the sea lagoon, kayak from the beach or laze around in the tropical sun. Pantrepant farm is Island Outpost’s market garden. It occupies hundreds of acres in the far west of Jamaica, nestled on the banks of the roaring Martha Brae River in the heart of what is known as ‘Cockpit Country’.
.
Chris Blackwell, the founder of Island Records and part of the creative team that introduced Bob Marley to an international audience, created a dream destination escape where Ian Flemming built his dream house. Indeed, it was at GoldenEye that he dreamed up James Bond, 007, who turned out to be an escape for millions of readers. Blackwell purchased GoldenEye from the Fleming estate in 1976. Since then, he has grown the original 19 acre property, with just Fleming’s Villa, into a 52-acre world class property that is the flagship of Blackwell’s Island Outpost
